Inline Measurement for PV Recycling

Fluorine determination is of particular interest for the recycling of backsheets of discarded solar modules, since hydrogen fluoride is generated during the recycling of fluorine containing plastics. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) can be used to perform the analysis in seconds and the spectra can be used to show whether the backsheet contains fluorine. Furthermore, 2D mapping of whole solar cells or parts of them is possible, which can be used to quantitatively determine the contents of various precious metals as well as other valuable resources after appropriate calibration.

Laser-induced plasma spectroscopy is potentially in-line capable, so we can support our customers in establishing a new method in the recycling process and determine suitable instrument parameters and conditions. Contract analyses of small and large sample series, e.g. with regard to their fluorine content, are also possible with us.
